Epic Games - Team Online: Sr UX Designer
I worked with Team Online for the majority of my time at Epic Games. The largest running vertical that I engaged with, by far, was the Epic Games Store. I was fortunate to be a part of the creation of this product from the earliest stages of conception to the final touches of design, the continued upkeep of design elements and refining of design systems.
Project:
Epic Games Store
Date:

My Role:
Sr UX Designer / UX Lead
My Responsibilities:
Design Leadership, Design Manager, Wireframing, Requirements Gathering, User Testing, Visual Design, Heristic reviews, Stakeholder ownership, Jira Management
During the strategy phase, the UX team is responsible for competitive analysis, heuristic reviews, requirements gathering (along with the rest of the team), and task estimation. The below images are from a heuristic review of the browse experience for Mandarin speaking audiences done with a newly hired designer as a first project.
During the research and analysis phase, the UX team performs workshops and user research in the area of focus, and reporting on the findings as a result. Below are images from this phase within a project to integrate an affiliate program with the store browse experience.
During the block out phase, greybox wireframes are always helpful to talk through the user flows and quickly establish an initial approach with rapid iteration. It is much easier to change course in this phase, so take your time to get the click through flows just right. Below are images from a very early stage for the browse experience.
During the final design phase the UX team is responsible for creating each visual element on the page, defining the design system and components used in the final product, and testing to make sure each element passes accessibility, and usability standards. Below are artifacts from various projects that are delivered during this final stage.
